Deputy Head of Corporate Institutional Banking, Senior Vice President Heikki Viitanen, 53, has been appointed as the new Head of Institutions Business Unit in Sampo Bank.
Viitanen succeeds Timo Hietanen, who has been nominated to Deputy Managing Director of Etera Mutual Pension Insurance Company. Changes will be effected on May 17, 2010.
The Public Institutions and Associations - business unit of Sampo Bank and the Institutional Customers - unit of CIB will be combined into a new business unit called Institutions.
- The customer focus is becoming more important among institutional customers. We have prepared ourselves for this challenge by providing even higher quality customer service and concentrating our resources to one unit, says Viitanen.
With new unit Sampo Bank seeks to ensure we extend its strong market position in Public Institutions and Associations and raise market share in other institutional customers segment.
Heikki Viitanen will report to Ilkka Hallavo, the CEO of Sampo Bank.
