Browser
A browser is a program that is used to display web pages. Your choice of browser is therefore crucial in determining how you experience a web site.

We have tested these browsers on all functionality in Sampo Bank eBanking and they are known to support eBanking.
Java
Java can be used for running Java applets (programs that run in a browser). Sampo Bank eBanking uses Java for e.g. securing the logon and showing price charts. If you want to use eBanking, you need to have Java version 1.4.2 or higher installed and allowed to run Java applets from Sampo Bank. To run on a Mac you need Java version 1.5 or higher. We recommend you use the newest version of Java.
Internet connection
The speed of your Internet connection determines how fast web pages are displayed in your browser.

You can obtain an acceptable display of our pages with a telephone modem connection of at least 56K or an ISDN connection. Of course pages will load quicker if you are using an ADSL or cable modem connection.
Live connect

Live connect enables web pages to communicate with Java Applets. This technology is supported by most newer browsers.
128 bit encryption
For security reasons Sampo Bank eBanking requires 128 bit encryption for SSL. Old browsers do not support this by default due to earlier export restrictions on encryption technology in the USA.
JavaScript
JavaScript is a technology built into a browser. JavaScript is used for making web pages more dynamic. In order to use eBanking, JavaScript must be enabled in your browser.
Screen
The resolution and size of your screen affect the appearance of web pages in the browser.

We design our web site and most of the functions in Sampo Bank eBanking for a screen resolution of 800x600 pixels.

Some screens for investment are designed for a screen solution of 1024x768 pixels.

Nowadays, most screens support 1024x768 or higher.
