To ensure the privacy of the customers, Sampo Bank uses its own security solution in addition to SSL encryption to verify all transactions and agreements.
When you log on to eBanking for the first time you will be asked whether you wish to activate the Sampo Bank security solution. A Warning–Security pop-up window will display with the message: ’The application’s digital signature has been verified. Do you want to run the application?’ Please note that the exact wording of the notification may vary depending on the software you are using. Always check that it refers to the eBanking security solution and is verified by Sampo Bank. Make sure that the Publisher is displayed as Sampo Pankki Oyj. If you want to log on, click Run to activate the security solution.
The eBanking security solution is used to verify transactions and agreements. When you are logged into eBanking, the security software will verify all information flow between your computer and the bank. When you authorise a transaction or agreement using your PIN, the information is signed digitally. Once the digital signature is in place, the information cannot be amended during the internet transfer. When you log-out or switch off the internet, the security program will shut down automatically.
If the Warning–Security pop-up window appears every time you attempt to log in, make sure the option to ’Always trust content from this publisher’ is selected before clicking Run.
