Installing Java Runtime software – Mac Safari

Note! The installation stages may differ from these instructions because of the firewall and other software used on your computer.

  1. Enter ‘www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp’ in the address bar and select the offline installation suitable for your operating system by clicking the arrow inside a circle on the correct selection.
  2. Once you have accessed the Apple website, click the ‘83MB’ link at the bottom right-hand corner.
  3. Downloading will start. By default, the installation package will be placed on your Desktop.
  4. Go to the Desktop and open the Java installation package by double-clicking the Java icon.
  5. In the new window double-click the new Java icon.
  6. Click the ‘Continue’ button in the ‘Presentation’ section of the ‘Install Java for Mac’ window.
  7. Click the ‘Continue’ button in the ‘Read me’ section.
  8. In the ’Licence’ section you can read the software licence agreement. To continue the installation, click the ‘Continue’ button.
  9. You must accept the licence agreement in order to continue the installation. Click the ’I accept’ button.
  10. Check ‘Select destination’ to ensure that Java will be installed on your computer and click the ‘Continue’ button.
  11. Click the ‘Install’ button in the ‘Installation type’ section.
  12. The installation may require a password before continuing. Enter the password of your computer’s user ID in the ‘Authentication’ window and click the ‘OK’ button.
  13. Java will be installed.
  14. Java installation is completed. Click the ‘Close’ button in the ‘Finish’ section.
  15. Java will be operational by restarting your Internet browser.
  16. Check your computer’s Java version at www.sampopankki.fi/selaimet.
  17. After checking the Java version, delete the Java installation package from your Desktop by moving it to the trashcan.
  18. You do not need to launch Java separately in the future. It will always be operational when logging in to eBanking. If there are any Java updates, Java will notify of any updates available for downloading.
